The Event

SAM Workshop features artists and crafters, whose artistry has the power to bring people together to strengthen the local social fabric. The workshops are less focused on technical skills and more focused on creative ways to engage with the themes, stories, and collective history at Saint Albans Museum.

No experience is necessary. You must be 18+ to register. All materials are provided. Space is limited, so if you cancel, please let us know so that we can offer your space to the waiting list.

The Artist

Linda Oakes Carvalho

A Healthcare professional by day, and artist by night, Linda has been honing her self-taught skills in oils and watercolor for the past several years. The pandemic offered a unique opportunity for her to further develop this talent and embark on the journey of becoming an artist. The incredible beauty that surrounds her, coupled with her passion for story telling through the stroke of a paintbrush, inspires Linda to share her vision of the world with those who love and collect art.

Based in Saint Albans, Linda accepts commissions and private showings of her work. Several pieces are available for purchase at the Frame Shoppe and Art Gallery in Saint Albans, and at the Milton Artist Guild, where Linda is a member. Linda also hosts paint and sips at different venues in the Burlington area through the Milton Artist Guild and her own studio.

When Linda is not whiling away her time in her studio, she enjoy drawing inspiration from her two vibrant teenagers, gardening, taking long walks in nature and reading salacious novels.
